Ardrox NQ1 is a high-sensitivity, non-aqueous wet developer used in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT). Manufactured by Chemetall (a brand of BASF), it consists of an inert white powder suspended in a fast-drying solvent system. It is primarily applied during dye penetrant and fluorescent penetrant inspections to pull trapped penetrant out of surface defects, making cracks, welds, and flaws highly visible against a stark white background.
